Barney's New Car

 Enjoyed drawing this one except there was a back and forth on light and dark.   The background I wanted enough detail to see the scene out the back of the car but not to take attention away from Barney.  Lot's going on in this scene.  Aunt Bee is riding happily in the back seat.

A taller Barney

 Decided to draw a scene from the show instead of just a character.  This is a classic scene where Andy tried to stretch Barney to meet the new requirements of height and weight.  Took a long time on this one due to all the detail and 3 different portraits.   Barney is the focal point though and was a funny show.

The Five

 Had a whim to draw Jessie Watters and Greg Gutfield on the Fox Tv show The Five.   Sent in and they showed on air.  Was a thrill to be mentioned on national tv to 3.6 millions viewers!

 Tried something different here.  My sister-in-law took the photo reference for this drawing while on a trip to Africa.   She and her husband are very talented photographers and have a tremendous volume of work.

Finished my John Wayne portrait in pencil.  This is the second one I’ve done of him and he is a joy to draw.  So many great movie moments come to mind and I can hear his voice as I look at him.  Hope you enjoy!

Had to draw Granny after Jed!  11x14. Irene Ryan was 59 when she played the role of Granny during the Beverly Hillbillies.

Well Doggie!! Jed Clampett.   Buddy Epsen was a dancer originally  and was the Tin Man for 10 days in the Wizard of Oz till he became very sick from the aluminum dust and almost died.  But will always be known as the poor mountaineer who barely kept his family fed.  Hope you enjoy my latest pencil.
